Subject: UC Berkeley Hadoop Special Interest Group

Description: In the last year or two there has been a considerable amount of
research done at Berkeley directly or indirectly related to the Hadoop
open source implementation of MapReduce and distributed file system.
After talking to Matei and Anthony about it, we decided to organize a
brief weekly meeting for those who are interested in keeping up to
date on other Berkeley research projects that are using Hadoop,
facilitating collaboration between such projects, and for
brainstorming new ones.
